Artist Statement

My works lean towards the traditional route and incorporate familiar elements—such as animals and plants—with evocative imagery filled with metaphors. My portraits are rooted in surrealism and showcase a rich interplay of vivid color, subtle texture, and form to explore the dynamic relationship between our conscious and subconscious. My paintings express the delicate weave that is culture and heritage and the internal struggles defining the 21st-century.
