Remember me Always
A portrait of a woman with her face painted for Dia de los Muertos. She has pink roses on her hair, and a blue butterfly is resting on one of the roses.
This piece was made to commemorate the Mexican tradition that honors deceased loved ones through colorful celebrations, altars, and offerings. It serves as a reminder of the lost culture in my family.

BENEATH THE SHALLOW WATERS
A surreal portrait of a woman lying on shallow waters with her eyes closed and fish swimming around her. The edge of the canvas has coarse texture added to create further depth to the piece.
This piece carries a message very personal to me and represents how it feels like we are drowning from worry, stress, and life but if only we open our eyes we can see it's only shallow waters and wecan easily get up.

HEART OF THE CYGNUS
A surreal portrait of a young woman sitting on top of water with a swan behind her. The entire canvas is covered in gold leaf and then painted over with layers of gold paint and a limited color pallet. The water is gold as well. This piece carries an important message that we all are beautiful.
Message: We are all like the ugly duckling from the children's stories and only need time to let our beauty grow.

A New Hope
A surreal portrait of a woman lying on the grass with a bird nest in her chest. The nest and angel wing have texture paste added to create further depth to the piece. This piece carries a deep meaning of life, struggles, and hope.
Message: Though life might be filled with struggles and pain there is still life in all of us waiting to be born.

WE ARE THE GUARDIANS
A surreal portrait of a woman holding a baby blue jay in her hands and another taking flight. The background consists of an orange sunset and eerie yet beautiful trees. Are those clouds or treetops? Let your imagination sore with this piece full of life, nature, and beauty. This piece carries two messages, thus two birds.
Message 1: Even when our loved ones are gone, they still remain as our guardians, watching over us from heaven.
Message 2: We are the guardians of our world; we need to watch over nature and everything that inhabits it.

Oil Paintings

A collection of some of my oil paintings I have done throughout the years. Some were painted on location with nude models while others are part of my ongoing surreal portrait collection.

Human Metamorphosis
Surreal Self Portrait of my son when he was a teen. There are 21 monarch butterflies to match the age I was when I got pregnant with him. This piece is supposed to be a representation of how Mexican culture is dying in each new generation but there is still time to revive it and teach our children here they come from. In this piece he is transforming into a more enriched culture driven figure.

Robots Don't Cry
Surreal Portrait using my mother as the model. The piece is of a woman hiding her face to hide her emotions. This piece is heavily symbolic with the snake being a symbol of society whispering into the woman's ear that she can't show her weakness and emotions to others. The water droplets are on the roses symbolizing her tears. There are 21 tear drops to symbolize the age I was when I got pregnant with my son.
